几小时后，一位经验丰富的维修工 arrives at my doorstep. After inspecting the air conditioner, he tells me that the condenser coils are clogged with dirt and dust. It seems that during the long period of non-use, these coils have accumulated a thick layer of debris, which has blocked the airflow and prevented the machine from cooling properly.

The technician quickly sets to work cleaning out the coils, and after about an hour's work, he declares himself satisfied with his handiwork. He turns on the air conditioner again, and this time it roars back into life with a blast of icy cold air.

I breathe a sigh of relief as I feel my room finally cool down to a comfortable temperature. The mystery of why my air conditioner suddenly stopped working is solved – it was simply a case of dirty coils causing all sorts of trouble! Now I know better than to neglect regular maintenance for such important appliances.

From now on, whenever summer rolls around again (and it always does!), you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be making sure to give my trusty old air conditioner some TLC before things get too hot under its metal exterior.
